Combining raw talent and a youthful energy with the chops of a seasoned working musician, Andrew Laubacher is among the most versatile, in-demand drummers in the San Francisco Bay Area, having performed live or in the studio with the likes of Guster, Third Eye Blind, Joe Pisapia, Peter Frampton, the Dodos and many more.
Andrew grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where his love for music started at a young age. He studied at Boston University before deciding to tour the U.S. with Guster full-time at the age of 20. Since settling in San Francisco in 2009, Andrew has established himself as a go-to drummer and percussionist for session work as well as live shows and tours. He’s equally at home in a wide range of genres and is well-known for being engaging on stage; whether he’s supporting a singer-songwriter in an intimate listening room or captivating the crowd at a sweat-soaked dance party at the Fillmore.
Andrew is also an experienced drum instructor. Having honed his own technique and style over the past two decades by studying under Bob Gulotti, Andrew Barr, Bob Moses, Scott Amendola and others. Andrew loves helping other people develop their passion for music; he teaches private, personalized drum lessons to students of all ages and levels.
